Proposal Number 007-09

1. Date proposed: April 3rd, 2009
Name of the sponsor(s): Dave Chandler and Claire Ryder, state co-chairs

2. Title: Designation of National Green Party Representative

3.Text of Proposal: Appointment of Victor Forsythe to the Green Party of the
U.S. National Committee. This is a temporary appointment until the regular
election for this position is held at the GPOC annual meeting this summer.

4.Background: Colorado is apportioned three positions on the GPUS national
committee. In March 2009, Sandy Lemberg resigned leaving a vacancy. Claire
Ryder and Tom Kelly are the other two representatives.

5.Justification/Goals: It is the intent of this proposal to fill the vacant
position so that Colorado is fully represented at the national level.

6.Pros: Victor Forsythe forward these remarks:

I’m very excited to have the opportunity to take the place of Sandy L. who
unfortunately resigned the position of state rep for the Green party.
I’ve attended lots of GP meetings for many years and volunteered at our
tables and other events whenever possible.

I’ve been very active in the environmental moment for many years. After
working as a volunteer intern with Earth Island Institute, I also worked
with Campaign California and I’m one of the founding members of the
Rainforest Action Network and Eco-Solar in Mexico. I’ve traveled all over
Latin America and grew up in Ecuador although born not in Kenya or Hawaii
but Miami. While Spanish was my first language, English is a close second.
I’d like to help to Change Americas diapers! That the real change America
needs! I’m a populist not a communist. I’ve tried being a comedian but feel
much more comfortable as a politician because the jokes are real!
Think globally, vote locally, get rid of the corporate cash marinated
demo-rats and the republic-cants and go Green Party!

Sincerely,
Victor Forsythe

From Dave Chandler:
Victor has been attending and participating in Adams-Jeffco Green Party
meetings now for several years. He volunteered at the People’s Fair Green
Party booth last summer and also attended and spoke at the Evergreen
conference. I think that Victor would well represent the GPOC on the
national committee.

7: Cons: The GPOC may not be interested in filling this position at this
time.
