GPCO Proposal Format

1. Date proposed_________. Name of the sponsor(s).___________________ Names of the confirming GP members, if needed, with their confirmation emails. Name______________________, Name______________________

2. Title: be brief and explicit (5-10 words).

3. Text of the actual Proposal: Include: Who, What, Where, When, How plus Costs and/or other Resources, if needed.

4. Background: history, description of the existing situation, etc.

5. Justification/Goals: what is the proposal trying to accomplish, why should the group consider it now.

6. Pros and Cons: Possible benefits of the proposal and possible drawbacks. Benefits: Drawbacks:

7. Alternatives to the proposal (including taking no action).

8. Supporting statements including references to other sources of readily accessible materials to aid in the members’ decision making process. (A proposal for a nomination to a vacated position of an officer must include emails of acceptance, if elected, from the nominee and affirming the vacation of the position from the outgoing officer.)
