2. PROPOSAL SUBJECT: Purchase 1000 “Green Pages” from GPUS for locals

3. FULL PROPOSAL:
This proposal is for the GPCO to purchase 1000 “Green Pages” from the GPUS for the GPCO locals. The edition will be the “Autumn” version.
The cost will be $250 plus shipping. Additional cost will occur shipping the papers to the locals.

4. BACKGROUND:
The “Green Paper” is printed quarterly. The cost per 100 papers is $25, and can be purchased from the Green Party office at office@gp.org or 1-866-41GREEN.

5. JUSTIFICATION/GOALS:
The paper covers the activities of Greens, and it is ready-made recruitment material. Locals can hand this material out at events and leave them in places to be picked up. Having this information provides locals a method for showing off the Green Party separate from how the main stream media present us.

There are currently 10 active locals, so this proposal is to purchase 100 per local, which will cost the GPCO $250. We will try and have each set of 100 papers sent directly to each local to reduce shipping costs and improve speed. This requires a contact for each local.

Locals would be free to use the papers as they see fit. They could give some to members, use them at events, provide them to candidates, and leave them in locations to be picked up.
The GPCO currently has approximately $1250. This proposal would reduce this to around $950. The yearly total to cover the standard costs the GPCO incurs is around $480. With this proposal, we will still have are costs covered.

Before purchasing the papers, the GPCO will confirm that each local wants them, and if they do not, then the GPCO will reduce the number of papers purchased.

6. PROS AND CONS: Benefits: Helps promote the Green Party in Colorado.
Drawbacks: We do need to move on this quickly or the edition will become dated.

7. Alternatives to the proposal Possible alternatives:
- Purchase less/more per local
- Require locals to pay some part of the cost
- Do nothing
