Colorado Green Party Says No Nukes in the Middle East

The Green Party of Colorado has officially endorsed a statement against the United States’ nuclear weapon use in the Middle East and for the United States’ full compliance with the International Non-Proliferation Treaty. The Green Party voted on Oct. 5, 2007, to support the statement created by the Colorado Coalition for the Prevention of Nuclear War.

The Denver-based Coalition is a network of citizen activists and concerned Colorado residents, working for peace through diplomacy and a nuclear-weapons-free world. The Coalition Web site with a discussion forum, events calendar and other informational tools is www.thecoloradocoalition.org.

Westminster Resident Tanya Ishikawa Elected as Secretary of the Green Party of Colorado

Tanya Ishikawa of Westminster was elected to a two-year term as secretary of the Green Party of Colorado at the annual meeting on Saturday, July 9. Ishikawa is a member of the Jeffco Green Party, and has previously served as chair of the legislative committee.

“The Green Party is only 10 years old in Colorado and we have a lot of growing to do,” said Ishikawa, a freelance writer. “As secretary, I want to continue helping with outreach and educating voters about the full scope of our party philosophy, which addresses the whole range of local concerns from our promotion of clean air to support of our small businesses and creation of fair elections.”
